The Hilton Garden Inn at Stony Brook University has achieved LEED Certification under LEED for New Construction v2.2.
The project utilized the following LEED items in order to achieve the Certification:
â¢ Sustainable Site: Pollution Prevention; Alternative Transportation; site development to maximize open space; Heat Island Effect â Roofing;
â¢ Water Efficiency: 30% reduction in water use; water efficient landscaping;
â¢ Energy and Atmosphere: Commissioning of building energy systems; energy performance; fundamental refrigerant management; enhanced commissioning; measurement and verificationâ green power;
â¢ Materials and Resources: Storage and collection of recyclables; construction waste management; recycled content; regional materials; certified wood;
â¢ Indoor Environmental Quality: Environmental tobacco/smoke control; Indoor air quality management during construction; low-emitting materials â adhesives and sealants, paints and coatings, flooring systems, composite wood and agrifiber products; Controllability of Systems â lighting, thermal comfort; thermal comfort design;
â¢ Innovation in Design; and
â¢ Regional Priority Credits: Alternative Transportation â Public Transportation.
